Everything in the body is connected. It's a simple, yet complex concept to wrap your head around, but once you do, you will be able to have a better understanding of how your body functions. In this episode, you will see how your gut gets intertwined with the interconnection of your body.
THE UNDERLYING ISSUE OF DISEASE
Don’t be so quick to look for pharmaceuticals to help ‘fix’ an ailment going on in your body. Yes, some prescriptions out there can be game changers for people, but the majority of them are not! For me, I love getting to the source of what is going on in the body.
A pill might be able to fix your issue short term, but it doesn’t actually fix it for lifelong results. I want you to feel your best every day, so if your body needs some supplementation support, I am all for that as long as you are working on fixing and healing the underlying issue: your gut.
Here are a few conditions that I have found through my research that relate...
Your mindset can determine how you approach your day, tasks, challenges and anything else life throws at you! How you approach these situations directly affects your mood + how you feel. When you approach areas of your life with a positive mindset and attitude, you are much more likely to achieve your goal and have a lot more fun doing it! Here are eight ways to help you get started on your positive mindset journey.
This is the first and most important step to changing your mindset. Acknowledging your thoughts, positive and negative, and not judging them will help you begin to understand your feelings and give you an opportunity to become more self-aware.
2. BE PRESENT
Whether you are working, talking with your partner, reading to your children or hanging out with a friend, be present and engaged. Making an effort to be present with everything you do throughout your day can help set important boundaries and decrease your stress level.
I am so excited for you to tune into this episode because I have my dear friend Jessica McCleskey Hood Mahle with me! Jessica is an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach, Body Mind Coach, Yoga Instructor, a Moon Mother and founder of Love Your Body Like A Goddess.
Jessica helps women find their freedom by guiding them into sacred sparking bodies of love and lives of magic via the way of their goddess and womb wisdom.
Her technique begins by connecting the foods we eat with why we eat them. She begins by breaking “food” up into two categories: primary foods vs. secondary foods.
PRIMARY FOODS are the foods you don’t eat. Those can consist of relationships, careers, exercise, your home environment and so on.
SECONDARY FOODS are the actual food you eat but can also include medication, wine, cigarettes, etc.
By focusing on the primary foods, this allows individuals to stop obsessing over what they are actually eating and can begin the healing...
Many of you who have listened to a few of my Core Connections Podcast episodes or are a member of my Prenatal + Postnatal Membership, know how much I LOVE talking about fascia. In this episode, I’m kicking it up a notch and talking about your interstitium. What is interstitium? According to Tom Meyers of Anatomy Trains, interstitium is,
“The interstitium is a body-wide communicating system for the push and pull of mechanical information. A system of collagen and elastin fibers suspended in a mucousy gel that binds with interstitial fluid. This system is closely aligned with our lymphatic system and the white blood cells of our immune system.”
The great news is by improving the energy flow through your body you can improve the flow of you interstitium while improving your overall body function. Why you might ask? Because everything in your body is connected!
You better fasten that seatbelt for today’s episode because I am going to be throwing a lot of...

1. CRUNCHES ARE THE BEST WAY TO STRENGTHEN YOUR CORE
Crunches are only designed to work the surface muscles and can put undue stress on your neck, abdominal wall, hip flexors and back. I recommend replacing crunches with pelvic tilts, hip rolls and clam shells. Each of these exercises are designed to safely and effectively strengthen your deep core, heal your abdominal separation and help you achieve that...

1. TASTE EVERYTHING. EAT NOTHING.
Now don't take this literally... but try everything and then only eat the things you absolutely love. Except maybe the gluten If you currently are gluten-free, keep in mind that eating gluten even at just one meal can take months to completely get out of your body. I always recommend bringing a gluten-free option for everyone to enjoy!
Thanksgiving Trick: Don't tell anyone that it is a gluten-free dish and see if they notice! They might find that they like the gluten-free option better! #sneakysneakymama (DM me on Instagram and let me know if it worked!)
2. DON'T BINGE
It's never worth it and it makes you feel like a cornucopia! Eat until you are no longer hungry and stop before you are full. One of the best things about holiday meals are the leftovers so don't over do it in one meal - save plenty for leftovers for the family to enjoy for the next couple of days.
3. ENJOY YOUR FOOD
Meaning chew your food s l o w l y...
The topic of collagen has been buzzing around, especially in the anti-aging world. I wanted to answer a lot of your questions and separate truth from fiction when it comes to collagen + your body!
WHAT IS COLLAGEN?
Collagen is the protein that forms the connective tissue throughout your body (a.k.a. FASCIA).
Our bodies naturally produce collagen, but as we enter our late 20s and early 30s, the natural collagen production begins to slow and eventually decline. This is when visible signs of aging come to the surface such as fine lines and wrinkles.
As we age, it becomes increasingly important to replenish the collagen in our bodies because collagen can help strengthen our bones, fights away signs of aging and builds better fascia that acts as a web around and through our muscles and organs, can even help keep our bones strong and much more!
HOW CAN I ADD COLLAGEN INTO MY DIET?
Collagen is naturally found in many foods and can easily be incorporated...
