Are you living life or is life living you? Feel like there are never enough hours in the day? Find yourself wasting time on technology when you realize you could have gotten in a workout, meditation or start on dinner?
Hi, I see you!! + trust me, I’ve been there too. A couple of years ago I really started working on my daily intentions to help with my movement, tasks + daily presence. A little bit can go a long way, but it’s getting in the habit of doing it every day while being aware of it.
Now don’t get me wrong, I’m still a work in progress over here… but it’s about progress, not perfection. And you being here to learn today is a step in the right direction.
But before you press play on this episode, I want you to think about one thing you can start putting more intention around. I have been working on my intention of being present in my day-to-day moments. Being present is one of those things where you do it more than you think, but when you bring more awareness to it you do it so much better. This means minimizing the multi-tasking… now don’t get me wrong, I still multi-task. But it is all about progress, not perfection.
We tend to get in this busy, busy mindset that gets overwhelming and leaves you feeling like you can’t take add anything more on the to-do list. If you are wanting to change this thought process, you can go about it with the intent of changing it with a desired outcome.
So how am I being actionable with the intention of being present in day-to-day moments? When I’m working, I am working. When I’m with my kids, I am with my kids. When I’m focused on my self-care, I’m focused on my self-care. I have been a work in progress with this intention the past couple of years, but you know what? I’m more productive, I feel better and I’m allowing myself to live in that moment.
TACKLING YOUR TO-DO LIST WITH INTENTION + THEN ACTION
If you look at your to-do list with overwhelm, then the first thing you need to do is to take a deep breath and realize that you are not going to get to everything today… and that’s okay. Pick your top 2 things that you want to work on or accomplish from that list and work them into your day. Look at your list with the intention to take action rather than feeling overwhelmed.
