Sarah Morgan’s Solution To Brain Fog (Part Two)

In part two of Sarah Morgan and I's conversation, she talks in-depth about brain fog and shares advice on how you can begin talking, thinking and seeing things more clearly.

BRAIN FOG

WHAT IS IT?

Sarah describes brain fog as your brain function crawling through mud. You may be experiencing things such as lack of mental clarity, unable to sort thoughts, trouble with memory, losing train of thought, slow processing or your just plain tired!

WHY AM I SUFFERING FROM IT?

So many people experience brain fog, just as I have with mold toxicity. Other factors that could cause inflammation of the brain include heavy metals, environmental toxins, lack of quality and duration of sleep, stress, gut function, low nutrients status and struggle with thyroid function.

PHOSPHATIDYLCHOLINE

Phosphatidylcholine is used in a lot of places in the body such as the cell membrane, liver, genes that play a role in breast health and your brain. In the brain, it makes acetylcholine which works to enhance the sharpness of the brain. Sarah and I go into detail on phosphatidylcholine in part one of conversation, so be sure to tune into that as it could play a huge role in lifting your brain fog!

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO CLEAR?

Sarah says the answer to this question depends on your genetics and your diet of how much choline you’ve been consuming. She recommends waiting at least 30 days to see results but emphasizes to be patient with the process because it takes time.

CAN I TAKE TOO MUCH CHOLINE?

After listening to the two episodes with Sarah, it’s clear to see that the benefits of choline are amazing! But is there such a thing as too much?

Sarah says that this is a relevant question in the research community as some of the byproducts that are made when taking choline are dependent on the liver, kidneys and microbiome. If there is some dysfunction there, you could make a byproduct called TMAO that is a substance that could increase the risk of a heart attack or stroke. The question that lies in all of this research is did TMAO commit the crime or is it just an accomplice?

So, make sure that you are working with someone who knows what they are doing in terms of dosing when it comes to choline, but Sarah recommends that you don’t take more than 500-600 mg a day.

Brain fog is not your new normal or something that you should just laugh off. Bring awareness to it before it could become a diagnosed issue because you can do something about it. It’s your body’s way of telling you that there’s something going wrong in the body, so listen.
