This So-Called Balance Of Life...

core connections lifestyle mindfulness Jun 08, 2018

As a business owner, mom, wife, trainer (and the list goes on!) I understand the go, go, go lifestyle. It is easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of your own life, so much so that you forget to give every aspect in your life the attention that it deserves. In this episode of The Core Connections Podcast, I am going to give you ten of my tips to help balance your life.

BALANCE LIFE TIPS

1. PRIORITIES

What are your priorities in life? Where are you in life? This helps shape what priorities you need to focus on today, to get you where you need to be tomorrow. Take it as it comes.

2. DISCONNECT

While technology is amazing, it also comes with a price! Take time from your day to disconnect from your devices and give your mind a break.

3. MAKE TIME EACH WEEK FOR YOU

Pick up a book, focus on your breath, go out for a walk. Whatever you need to do that focuses on balancing your overall mindset, take the time to do that. Because if you aren’t putting your best foot forward, it is benefiting no one.

4. BUILDING UP RELATIONSHIPS

There is evidence that shows that strong relationships contribute to a long, healthy and happy life. These relationships help bring purpose to our lives while calming down the imbalances in our lives. So, take that time to build up your relationships with others.

5. ASKING FOR HELP

It is okay to ask for help. It is not a sign of weakness, it is a sign of you being in control. Asking for help also shows others that you trust them to get a task done which can help build up your relationships. As a business owner, I have learned how delegating helps me be able to focus on other priorities in my life that I normally wouldn’t have time for.

6. PUTTING MORE HOURS INTO YOUR DAY

Whether you get up a couple of hours earlier or you stay up a few hours later (like me!!), this time can be crucial to help get everything in your day done. If I am not doing work during this time, I also like to watch a mindless show to help turn off my brain. I recommend trying it a couple of times a week so you don’t hurt your sleep schedule.

7. SCHEDULING

My phone calendar is full of things that I need to accomplish on a day-to-day basis. It helps keep me on track and prioritize what I need to get done day in and day out. However, I try not to overschedule and I try to be flexible with my schedule in case things pop up. This helps take the stress off of all the things that I need to get done and allows me to create an ever-changing game plan.

8. SETTING BOUNDARIES

Once I learned to do this, a weight was lifted off my shoulders. Setting boundaries for work and personal life are crucial because those two focuses need to be separated. It is okay to say no if that is putting stress on your life and there will be another opportunity where you can say yes.

9. MOVING DAILY

Stay active in your day-to-day life. You don’t have to spend an hour in the gym every day to stay active. Stand up more throughout your day, park farther away to get more steps in, take 10 minutes to do some quick movements. These little things will add up to big results. It will help rejuvenate your mind and get rid of that brain fog that is making you work not as effective and causing an imbalanced life. Movement can be that constant thing in your life for you.

10. SURROUND YOURSELF WITH POSITIVE MINDED PEOPLE

These are the types of people that are going to make you a better person, keep you motivated and bring out the best in you. Positivity can go such a long way in this world and we need more of it! So find those people and stick with them to make this world a better place.
