After being in the fitness industry for over 15 years, I have noticed that exercise is kept in this box with the idea that harder is better.
It's the same old fashioned mindset that taught us that breakfast is the most important meal of the day and to suck our belly to our spine.
If you've been around me for a while, you might be aware of my out of the box methods, but I have a method to my madness that I need you to remember:
Everything in the body is connected.
It sounds simple enough, right? But when you are in that workout class or nutrition consultation, it's usually presented in individual pieces (ex: arms, legs, digestion, dysfunction here or pain there). Instead of trying to diagnose a specific issue or ailment you are experiencing, look at the body as a whole or as one... a.k.a. fascia.
Fascia runs over and through your muscles, around your organs and throughout your entire body. Everything is intertwined, which is why you can't just look at the body in segments. You need to look beyond the site of the pain or the place of dysfunction to really get to the root of the problem.
