You can't set yourself up for a good day if you didn't have a good night's sleep.

That's my moto!

>>As a core exercise specialist, sleep has become important for my overall health, well-being and brain function!<<

And while I believe that creating a morning routine is important, you can't get a good night's sleep without a solid evening routine, which is why I began making it a priority.

>>Here's a look at how my family and I wind-down for the night so mama can get herself some good zzz's.<<

Dinner Time

This is where it all begins. *Grateful for my husband who LOVES to cook for our family!* We aim to eat dinner most nights around 6 pm or 7 pm depending on the kids' activities. Sometimes it's at 8:30...it's not ideal but hey life happens!

Family Time

Even though we are spending more time at home these days, spending quality family time together without and distractions is a HUGE must. During this time we catch each other up on our days, enjoy some time outdoors or cuddle up on the couch to watch a show together.

Reading Time

If you've tuned in to any of my episodes on the Core Connections podcast, chances are you've heard me say knowledge is power! This is true not only for myself but for my kids as well. That's why most nights we read with the kids because reading has and always will be a big part of our life.

Bed Time

Once the sun starts to go down, we like to keep our lights dim to help the body more easily prepare for bedtime. Recently I switched the lamp light bulbs on each bedside table to Truelight Luna Red Light bulbs. Lighting has a direct effect on our circadian rhythm which has a direct effect on our health, so be sure to grab the 4-pack of bulbs >>HERE<<.

I finish my evening routine by grabbing my cup of lavender chamomile tea and I aim to have lights out around 10:30 pm. This time can tend to get pushed back in the summer because we are able to stay outside later. It's hard to get the kiddos to bed when the sun is still out!

There you have it, ladies. I hope you enjoyed this inside look at how I prepare myself for quality sleep every night!
