FASCIA

This course is based highly on research, lots and lots of research! Learn about fascia, fascial lines, how to activate fascia, and improve fascia's fuction.

Pelvis + Pelvic Floor

Anatomy, function and dysfuction, including pelvic organ prolapse, incontinence, pain, and more! Plus research and how breathing impacts pelvic floor function. AND yes, men have a pelvic floor as well!

Pain!

The site of pain is rarely the cause of the pain. Learn how fascia plays a role in dealing with pain and how you can help your clients in prevention of + moving them out of pain.

Posture

Understand guidelines to recognize postural imbalances and how to help clients improve their posture to help prevent + move them out of pain.

Deep Core Anatomy

Review and learn about anatomy as it relates to the deep core fascia, along with postural changes.

Power of Breath

How breath plays a role in deep core function, releasing tension in the body, it's connection with the nervous system, and common poor breathing patterns you can learn to recognize by movement patterns.

Diastasis Recti

Learn how to recognize if a client has diastasis recti and how to begin healing. What coning of the belly is and how diastasis recti is connected with the pelvic floor and fascia of the body.

Appropriate Exercise

Is running causing more harm than good right now? We'll go over specific guidelines to learn how to determine which exercise(s) and modifications are best for each individual at different phases.

Exercises + Progressions

This is were we will spend much of our time in-person...Learning in detail how to cue each movement + modifications for them, so that each movement can be tailored for the individual and how to progress each movement. This also Includes pelvic floor, breathing, and fascia instructions.

Digestion Matters

Learn some basics about digestion and how it can play a role in improving core function or hindering the progress.

Creating Balance

Let's pull together everything we have learned so far - to better understand how to create exercise programming for clients + how to incorporate these techniques into current training modalities.

Review three different case studies with common dysfunctional movement patterns, to better understand how to apply everything you have learned through this course.

Certification requirements:

  1. Full completion of online course (must watch all videos and attend 2-day in-person training)
  2. Pass all quizzes
  3. Document 20, 50-minute training session using your Core Athletica® Rehab method (level 1), within 6-months after completing the course.
  4. Videotape two, 5 to 8 minute training sessions for feedback from our master trainers.
  5. Submit proof of your current CPR certification and professional liability insurance at completion of the course.
  6. To stay certified you must remain a member of The Core Athletica®  Instructor Membership which allows you the rights to use the Core Athletica® Rehab name ($150/year).
  7. Upon completion you will be added to our Find A Trainer Near You + have opportunities to contribute to our blogs, social media or even be featured as a guest with Erica on her Core Connections Podcast!

FAQ

Q: Do I have to be a fitness instructor to take this course?

A: No, you do not need to be a fitness instructor to take this course. I do recommend having a base understanding of anatomy but it's not a must as you can devote more time to learning anatomy during the course. 

 

Q. What do I need to do in order to receive the certification?

A. Upon completion of the entire course (completing all Certification Requirements). You will need to submit proof of your CPR certification and professional liability insurance. (**We can help make suggestions if needed)

 

Q: Do I have to complete the course in a certain amount of time?

A: For the CERTIFICATION we give you 6 months to complete.

 

Q: What if I'm not able to complete in 6-months, will I continue to have access to the content online?

A: You will have access to your online content for 6-months and your manual and books forever. We recommend prioritizing your course so you can complete it on time.

  

Q: Are there additional materials I will need to purchase?

A: There are 2 books that are required for this course (in addition to the manual which will be shipped directly to you and any workbooks which you will have access to as pdf files). The 2 books are:

  1. "Fascia, what it is and why it matters" by David Lesondak
  2.  "Anatomy and Movement" by Blandine Calais-Germain

 

Q: What if I'm not able to attend the in-person training days?

A: There are no refunds on instructor courses. If you are unable to attend the in-person training dates you are required to give at least 14-days notice to defer to a future in-person training without penalty. For less than 14-days notice you may forfeit your in-person training days only if we are able to fill your spot, otherwise you will need to pay an additional $200 fee to defer to future in-person training dates.
