How To Handle What Life Has To Throw At You

lifestyle Jun 28, 2021

Do you ever have those rough days where your kids aren't cooperating with you, nothing seems to be going your way, and you can't take it anymore?!

*Both of my hands are in the air as I just had one of those yesterday!*

Choosing to live my life in a flow state has allowed me to not get as overwhelmed or reactive when life is throwing stuff at me.

Trust me...I'm not perfect at this by any means because it's not easy handling anxiety, stress, or overwhelm.

In fact, it can really suck!

>>But remember this: at the end of the day, we are all doing the best we can and need to give ourselves more credit for that.<<

Are you ready to learn some simple tools for when life is stressing you out? Let’s dive in!

Be Present

You know that I love living in a flow state because it allows me to be present.

*Yes, that means no multitasking!*

Being present brings awareness to how your day is going and how you're feeling.

As you start to be open to how things are making you feel in the present moment, you begin to process and handle those emotions instead of shoving them down, blowing up on someone, or making yourself feel worse.

Pause

Once you notice something is bothering you, there are three things I encourage you to do.

  • Take a pause
  • Take a step back
  • Take a deep breath

As you're breathing, think about how you can respond rather than react.

>>By responding, your communication will be more aligned with what you're feeling.<<

We are all energy and our energies feed off of each other whether you're on a zoom meeting or grabbing lunch with a friend.

Working on ourselves and what we put out into the world shifts the energy for everyone around us.

Within the day or the next couple of hours, let the bad situations go so you're not carrying that negative energy around with you throughout the week.

Reflect

After the stressful situation has passed, look back on what you or the other person has learned from it and move forward.

Even if you still don't understand why something is happening to you, have trust in the fact that it's going to benefit you in the future.

This is where you need to reframe or release past experiences that are weighing you down.

>>You can't change the past, but you can change your future and it starts with what you're doing today.<<

And there you have it! If you are still a little overwhelmed, don’t worry Beautiful, I’m here for you! Feel free to send me a DM on Instagram so we can continue this conversation and not let stress overcome our lives and our health.
