Benefits Of Optimal Pelvic Floor Function

deep core Jun 21, 2021

Have you ever wondered why it's important to work on your pelvic floor function?

*Oh, I've heard this before!*

Your pelvic floor function impacts so much more than just the pelvic floor itself.

Now that I have spent almost 20 years researching and working with the pelvic floor, I have noticed a few benefits that the pelvic floor has on the body.

Aches and Pains

One of the first things that will happen when you begin to improve your pelvic floor function is you will notice fewer aches and pains in your body.

The pelvic floor is not the first thing you think of when it comes to back, neck, or shoulder pain.

>>But you can’t just address one of those pieces without addressing the pelvic floor.<<

Some simple awareness that takes minimal effort will have you living life pain-free!

Sexual Health

This is one of those topics that aren't talked about enough in women's health!

>>Pain or discomfort during sex isn't something you have to live with.<<

As important as it is to not have too strong of a pelvic floor, you also want to make sure that you don't have too tight of a pelvic floor. It's all about finding a balance!

Pelvic Organ Prolapse

A common misconception is that pelvic organ prolapse only affects those women who have had babies. *And that's so not true!* I have seen it with women that have never been pregnant and even with men.

This is completely preventable if you are able to recognize the symptoms in the body and do something about it.

I encourage you to start teaching this information to your kiddos so you can begin to prevent these symptoms rather than working to heal them.

Flatter Stomach

If you think doing a countless number of crunches is going to get you that six-pack you've been waiting for, I hate to break it to you, but it's not going to happen.

>>Crunches are putting pressure down on your pelvic floor and doing the opposite of creating optimal function.<<

Now, I'm not saying you can never do crunches again because it is such a functional movement in our life. But it comes down to learning how to do these things in an effective manner so you can move your body in a strong and connected way as you age.
