How to Stretch EffectivelyNov 12, 2020
Are your muscles feeling tight?
Pause for a second…they might feel tight but from my almost 20 years of experience in the women's health space it probably means that there's an imbalance in the body.
*I don't want you to force a stretch JUST because it feels good at the moment.*
It's really common to round forward, collapse into a stretch and hyperextend areas of your body.
Here are 4 of my tips to effective stretching:
- Work to create a light fascial connection as this will allow you to create opposition, length and space in your body.
- Lift up out of your pelvis as you bend over to stretch instead of rounding and pulling in your back.
- Avoid overstretching as it can lead to injury and imbalance in the body.
- Find what areas need to be strengthened but in a lengthened position.
